While people usually focus on the Eiffel Tower in its magestic entirety, I’ve always had an obsession with details, and I found myself standing next to and underneath the tower, as close as physically possible, fascinated by the incredible intricacy of the delicate wisps of metal soldered together into elegant three-dimensional arches and columns, a thousand tiny pieces forming the breathtaking whole that has become one of the most iconic structures in the world. The title is a callback to the phrase “The Devil is in the Details,” and for me this image signifies the complexity and intricacy of things beneath the surface that is initially perceived, calling for us to take a second glance.
