Taken in the hilly medieval Tuscan town of San Gimignano, I love this shot (and San Gimignano) for its adventurous changes in elevation at every turn. As I snapped the shot, I was standing on the very same street that peeks out at the bottom of the shot farther up the way, but, because of the street’s elevation where I stood, it gives the illusion that the shot was, in fact, taken from a window or balcony several floors above ground level. Hence the title, simply meaning “elevated” in Italian.
